YouthCenter March 2025 Release Notes

Our March update is focusing on streamlining functionality within the YouthCenter application. This release is expected to go live on 3/30/2025 at 11 PM EDT (Click here to see the time in your timezone).

Sunsetting Legacy Features

A reminder that we will be retiring the Client SummarySearch, and Dashboard found in the “Old Side” of YouthCenter in this release. See our previous post on Sunsetting Legacy Features for complete details.

Offenses and Reports

These modules will still be available in the “Old Side.” We anticipate moving those modules into the “new side” later in 2025 or early 2026.

Personal Possessions Move

Some residential/detention facilities have been utilizing a Custom Form as their personal possession inventory. This form and corresponding responses will be moved to the juvenile’s “Other Forms.”In July of 2024, we released a much more robust Personal Possession system which can be found under Facility Manager > Personal Possessions.

The Personal Possessions link will still be available in the juvenile’s facility menu item and will take you to the client’s Personal Possessions in the Facility Manager.

For more information on how to utilize this updated feature, see our July 2024 Release Notes.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Earlier this month, we posted about YouthCenter and CJIS Compliance. As part of CJIS compliance push, we are offering 2 methods for MFA compliance.

Text Message Multi-Factor Authentication

Text message MFA is available at no additional cost to YouthCenter users.

Administrators may turn on MFA in Administration> Site Settings > General Settings

MFA is a sitewide setting. All users will be affected and required to enter a cell phone number to receive a text message with a code to log in to YouthCenter.

Federated Login

If your jurisdiction is interested in using federated login with Microsoft EntraID (formerly Azure AD), contact us for pricing.

Once your federated login has been activated and set up, administrators will have the ability to set up individual users to use their login credentials.

If your jurisdiction allows users outside your organization (therapists, counselors, etc.), they may still utilize their UserName/Password credentials, and you may also activate MFA for them.

Client Employment History

We have had a few jurisdictions ask to have a section to record and view juvenile employment history rather than utilize a Custom Form to track this information. We’ve added this capability under the Client > General Profile > Employment

SafeGuard™ Updates

Along with our YouthCenter updates, the SafeGuard system is also getting some improvements.

Device Notifications

Push notifications to SafeGuard devices for overdue to-do’s (rounds) have now been implemented.

Intelligent Room Tracking

When utilizing movement tracking, If a youth is not in their room, that room will not show up in the listing of to-dos.

Smart Room Movement

If you are moving a group of youth from one location to another, the youth will be grouped together and pushed to the top of the “In Transit” tab, allowing you quickly select the group and complete a movement.

Facility Notes

With the need to enter notes on the fly for facility-related events, we’ve added Facility Notes to the SafeGuard application.

SafeGuard is currently in use in limited Residential and Detention facilities. Our official release will be at the end of Q2 2025. For more information on SafeGuard or a demonstration, please contact us.

Additional Bug Fixes

In addition to the outlined updates, this release includes various bug fixes to improve overall system stability and performance. These fixes address minor issues and enhance the user experience across different modules within the application.

Providing Feedback

As always, YouthCenter continues to be a solution built for and directed by your needs as caseworkers, JPOs, administrators, and more. Your feedback is very valuable. If you have any thoughts or ideas on how we can improve the software, please contact us via our suggestion form. New ideas are reviewed on a bi-weekly basis.
